Mum's Birthday

The other day was my mum's birthday and I got her some flowers and chocolates. :D

It was the first time I've ever bought flowers let alone buy anything as sweet as this for my mum. I think last year me and my brother got her cups that said 'Mum' on it, and every other time I made birthday cards lol so mum was pretty happy to see some flowers. I bought them at Woolworths in the city after I had finished uni. Luckily, I got home just in nick of time (like one minute) before my mum came home from work to surprise her with the gift. phew! :3  

Afterwards, we went to my aunt's place for my mum's birthday party, organised by my cousins. 

The cake was from Sugar and Spice and apparently it is a favourite bakery of supermodel Elle McPherson and former Prime Minister John Howard..

The cake reminded me of the Neapolitan ice cream because the inside of the cake had a layer of strawberry, chocolate, and the cream could pretend to be the vanilla. My cousin, Fiona, is the cake cutter of the family because she is very pro at it. :D

 I wonder how often do you need to change them.. 

I've always wanted to buy flowers and do some awesome flower arranging. :D
I wonder what these ones are called.. and if they have a particular meaning in the language of flowers too..
