Arranged Marriages

My uncle recently went on holiday to China and when he came back, he told my mum that he had wanted to introduce this nice guy to -of all people- me. I found this pretty hilarious. I never would've imagined that my uncle would be the one matchmaking me with someone. ahaha omg (゜▽゜;)


And just when I had recently read obseo sharing some of her thoughts on the topic of arranged marriages.. she said something like arranged marriages are portrayed in a negative light, especially in the media. I was thinking that I'd end up in an arranged marriage or something one day otherwise I'll become an old cat lady. So when my mum suddenly told me about this.. that made me laugh even more at the great timing of everything. 

Tonight, I actually met the guy when my uncle invited me, my mum, and brother to have dinner (at yum cha.. I thought she was joking when she said my uncle might introduce us over yum cha but)...... The funny thing was that we had arrived like 20 minutes early and went inside first because it was so cold and windy tonight. Then, my uncle finally came in alone, which I thought was strange because I spent that 20 mins sitting there wondering what kind of guy would even be considered a 'good match' for me, like why would other people even consider... I always tell my mum that she doesn't have to worry about me because I won't marry until I'm 40. So then he greeted some people he recognised, my uncle is pretty popular haha, and when I thought he was done and heading towards us, he turned and detoured to another table and then.. I SAW HIM. THAT GUY.. HE WAS SITTING AT A TABLE DIAGONALLY BEHIND US ALL THIS TIME. ;A; 

Then it turns out that my mum and the guy actually kinda know each other because he frequents my mum's workplace, the butcher's shop. LOL

So in the end, we all got to know each other I guess, but I didn't really join in the conversation much (just laughed at some jokes) cause my mum, uncle and the guy 'Alex' were speaking in Cantonese and I could only understand them and was scared to talk.. and be the center of attention.... lol my brother was just there for the food haha
