Memories

"Memories are what warm you up from the inside.
But they're also what tear you apart"
- Haruki Murakami

I recently discovered that I kind of like reading about characters that suffer from amnesia.. or has some sort of amnesia-like tendencies. A bit weird but I find it interesting that I read a lot of manga with this. :)

Like one I've recently read, Tasogare Otome x Amnesia, is about a ghost that lingers around the school the she died in and I think she doesn't remember her death or something like that? I should reread it to make sure.. ahaha.

I made a list!
  • Seishun For-get! by Mikabe Sesuna. Amnesia is serious.. the girl forgets everything by the next day!
  • Six Half by Iketani Rikako is also a pretty good one with a strong female lead character, although she got her amnesia from a motorcycle accident.
  • Hot Blooded Woman by Hwang Mi Ri. Though this theme (is this a theme?) is not necessarily a major part in the story.. this could be a little spoiler-ish though. I think this one is the first HMR one I've read so it's special to me in its own way.
  • Hitsuji no Namida by Hidaka Banri (very good) About a girl who doesn't remember where she put an important ring and how this affects the people around her.
  • Karneval by Mikanagi Touya (very good)
  • Nabari no Ou by Kamatani Yuhki (very good) It's got some ninjas. lol
  • NG Life by Kusanagi Mizuho (very very good) Not really amnesia but about memories so I'll throw this in here. I treasure this one very much.
  • Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle by CLAMP. I should read/watch this again. I only saw a few episodes way back. I like the idea of alternate universes too..
 BL

I'd like to find a novel with this theme.. cause the ones I listed above are all mangas/manhwas and I don't think I've ever read a novel with this before.... hmmm.....
