Empire Toys

I found out about this store one morning when I was contemplating whether to go to the city and have sushi for lunch or go to the local shops. Then I remembered that I wanted to find more stores that sold manga and wondered if there were even shops that sold the ones I wanted so I googled around. I somehow found this store called 'Empire Toys' from which the reviews said that they had a lot of toys and collectables and they were pricey too. I decided to check it out and... my god THERE WERE SO MANY MANGA AND THEY HAD SOME BL TOO OMG :D I couldn't believe it! All these years it never crossed my mind to do a little research for stores with manga because I thought that Perth had so little ever since Borders had closed down. All other bookstores I've been to didn't have enough manga. ;w;

Now that I've found Empire Toys, I will probably be able to buy some. I looked for DMP, SuBLime, and June on the spines because I knew they were BL publishers hehee. There were so many books but they were pretty expensive! Most were at $24-19. They even had a table with books on sale but none of them had the first volume and I didn't feel like buying ones I haven't read even though they were about $8 each.

Maybe next year, when I go to Supanova, I'll find ones that I can buy at $10 each. The entrance fee was $30, which was not that great. I bought three books: Oresama Teacher Vol 5, OHSHC Vol, and Bride of the Water God Vol 1. I've always been meaning to read Bride of the Water God because the art was very beautiful. I think I am one who judges a book by it's cover haha.

Arranged Marriages

My uncle recently went on holiday to China and when he came back, he told my mum that he had wanted to introduce this nice guy to -of all people- me. I found this pretty hilarious. I never would've imagined that my uncle would be the one matchmaking me with someone. ahaha omg (゜▽゜;)

Finally on my P's :')

*ahh there's a halo above my P lol*
And look at my lovely Captain America nail! :D

About 6 months has passed since I took my driving assessment for like the fourth time :S I still remember that day haha I saw a black cat near where I was asked to park on the side of the road.. apparently it is good luck to see a black cat etc and not the other way around.. hmm..

I could have gotten my P's last week because that was when it was exactly 6 months, but I had been lazy to complete the logbook and ended up taking the test today since my mum is only free Wednesdays to take me there. Besides, it was like pouring outside last week and thunder storming and etc that I decided not to go too. Mum was kinda disappointed in me when I told her I wasn't ready and she gave me a lecture about how other people will think of me/us.

I can now drive aloneI can drive through McDonalds aloneI can drive to uni alone (it only takes like 20 mins using freeway instead of 45 mins with public transport). I can be the designated driver alone. lol

The Hazard Perception Test (HPT) was easier than I had thought it would be because it was a pass/fail kind of test. lol I was so afraid that they would calculate if the hours and kilometres seemed right or not because I didn't actually fill in the logbook as I drove. I used google maps to see how many kilometres it takes and made each entry in the book at least 20mins. Instead, the lady just counted and made sure the hours do add up to the total and she just easily allowed me to do the test. :P

Let's Pandarise!

This is what I do at like 1am in the mornings. It is the time when I feel like I have all the time in the world. I used to clean my room and also sort clothes or even files out at night before I go to bed. Kinda like how you pack your bags the night before school. But this particular night, I had wanted to draw something with pandas. I am going through a panda phase at the moment. So I ended up drawing this cute picture of a girl with a panda hat. The girl could be me, although I have black hair. The panda has a little infinite bow because the kpop band 'INFINITE' is awesome. :D

Mum's Birthday

The other day was my mum's birthday and I got her some flowers and chocolates. :D

It was the first time I've ever bought flowers let alone buy anything as sweet as this for my mum. I think last year me and my brother got her cups that said 'Mum' on it, and every other time I made birthday cards lol so mum was pretty happy to see some flowers. I bought them at Woolworths in the city after I had finished uni. Luckily, I got home just in nick of time (like one minute) before my mum came home from work to surprise her with the gift. phew! :3

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was on the 13th of May and we went out to eat lunch and we also had a big family dinner to celebrate. This Mother's Day was special and unlike the previous years; this time, my granny has come out to eat with the family and everyone was happy because she usually doesn't want to go out despite our constant asking her to join everytime we go out to eat. :)

TVXQ Wrong Number

I feel so proud of myself for actually learning how to play this whole song without giving up, or just being satisfied with only playing the melody. The chords are actually pretty simple and once you get the hang of it, it is such a good feeling. :)

I actually started learning from a tutorial video (by smrr00) with a more visible view of the keys and to get the general idea of the melody and chords. I then switched to this video (by Meiyin1509) because this piano cover is just so beautiful. :')

Ahh~ I just love their voices.this video.the suits. *o*

The next song I'm learning to play is called 'It's You' by Super Junior.

The Work Environment

One thing that has kept me feeling happy tonight is just this simple photograph I took around last year when I went on a family picnic to Kings Park.

I was looking through my draw this morning and found the bundle of photos that I printed out ages ago. My mum didn't like some of them; saying that the sort of photos I had printed did not have the person facing the camera or were random shots and wasted money. Although, I do admit that perhaps one or two were kind of random.. but this one in particular was probably one of my favourite shots that day. :)

I haven't explained it to my mum, or anyone for that matter, about my attachment to this little photo. I really like it because if you look closely enough you would be able to see several of my relatives and what they were doing on the bridge at the time. :D

For example, my uncle visiting from America (wearing a white top) can be seen looking at the little information stand. And, you can also see one of my cousins giving the other cousin her camera to help take a picture of herself with her husband (they are in the very middle of the photo). There are more. :)

It's little things like this that makes one happy, right?

I also feel that it has already relieved some of my stress.. hmm..

I remember reading something Frank Chimero has said about his work space a long time ago and realised too late that I should've also personalised my own area too.. I could improve my mood, become inspired when I need it, and I could just look up and be motivated as well.

So, I should surround myself with more things that make me happy. :)

Here's to the first step to a happy (not as stressful) nights of finishing my work or studies in uni!

#stopkony

"KONY 2012 is a film and campaign by Invisible Children that aims to make Joseph Kony famous, not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice."

I was also ignorant about Kony's existence until today. On twitter, a friend had tweeted something about Justin Bieber tweeting about Kony.. which was how I found out about it. While I was on the verge of tears, my mum comes in and invades my room and sees my face. I tried to tell her about it but because my throat felt like it was being strangled, I only managed to nod and make weird mouth movements to her queries..

"What's wrong? What are you watching that's got you crying like this? Is this real or just a movie?"

Morning Glory

I went sunglasses hunting with a friend at the city last week.

This has a twisty thing on the side. :)
After buying my very first pair of sunnies, we just walked around the city.

There is always this guy in pink dancing or singing at the city..

I even walked past a shoe store named 'Jo & Max' ahaha
Why is this funny? Well, I used to have a crush on a guy named Max at school.
There was also a time when I really liked 'Max' from TVXQ/DBSK. (aka Changmin)

So many new discoveries that day.
I never knew that there was a Morning Glory store above the food hall!
I also didn't know about the food hall until recently too. lol I need to go to the city more often.
Anyways, I was doing my little fangirling thing outside the store ahaha and gasping in silence inside the store as I saw so many kpop goods :D

I didn't imagine that I would be able to see these albums in real life. :')

Too bad I didn't have enough money on myself to buy something..
I am now set to go back there and buy a TVXQ poster or something.. I need to put something on my wall as there is only a little family portrait on it. :)

Death

The other day, I woke up from a really sad dream where my brother died at the young age of 14 and just thinking about it made me seriously cry.. sobbing with no end. :(

My mum has gone to work and my brother has just left to go to school. It was 8:45am and I was alone at home and missed my brother. I couldn't control myself and just laid there crying it all out. I think the last time I have ever cried like that was when I was watching this really emotional Jdrama based on a true story, 1 Litre of Tears. You literally cry one litre of tears! lol

University

I've always imagined university to be intimidating and a place full of very serious people.

But lately, I started to picture me and my friends lazying around in the grass, possibly reading books and studying. We envisioned going to university like we're going to a park. We'd be having a picnic under a tree and there would be other students throwing a Frisbee around and someone walking their dog in the background. :D

Talking about uni life, I never imagined there to be shops, a hair dressers, even a centrelink! ahaha
My impressions of university came from, sadly, mangas I've been reading all my adolescent life. I had thought it to be like high school except there would be no more uniforms, there'd be enormous cinema-like rooms for lectures, and also a simple cafeteria. So I was very excited to visit many different universities during their open days.

I think I will miss the uniforms because who knows how long I'll last wearing a different outfit everyday. I didn't have to bother with the hassle of choosing outfits and just popped on the uniform when going to school. I could sleep in a little more knowing that I can be ready within 10 minutes. If I were late, I would sacrifice my breakfast or doing anything to my bed hair.. perhaps just straightening the bits that stuck out like crazy. :)

I've already enrolled and registered for classes. I have skillfully made it so that I am free on Tuesdays. :D Tuesday is the day of the week where there are many things selling at a cheaper price like movie tickets are $10, and if you go to a Gelare store to eat waffles, it's half the price.
